With season 16 of the hit reality renovation show, The Block around the corner, you may be wondering what the past contestants are up to right now. It’s not surprising that many have achieved successful careers in home design and renovations, while others have ventured into other pathways.

    After walking away with $730,000 from last year’s show and flipping and selling their Cairns home for $410,000, The Block 2019 winners, Tess and Luke Struber have officially reached millionaire status. Well, on paper that is. Since the show ended, Tess and Luke have been taking it easy, especially since the COVID-19 hit. In fact, they have barely spent their winnings. They’ve been taking it easy and spending time designing their dream home.

    Prior to joining The Block last year, this Bondi couple has over a decade worth of experience in flipping properties. It’s safe to say that they’re experts at home renovations and property makeovers. Since the show ended, Mitch and Mark have continued doing home makeover projects. They’ve also been sharing some tips and tricks on how to revamp your home on their Instagram. In fact, this stylish couple is currently helping out Married At First Sight couple, Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant, in designing their dream home. With their luxe and flamboyant styles, we’re excited to see the results of Mitch and Mark’s hard work.

    Former netball players, Bianca and Carla, have been enjoying their lives and keeping busy since we last saw them on The Block in 2018. Last year, the dynamic duo performed a surprise bedroom makeover for Hannah after receiving a call from Make-A-Wish Australia. Aside from that, Bianca has taken up a number of broadcasting responsibilities since then. From being a netball commentator and a guest star on House of Wellness to hosting Nine’s show, Women’s Footy, Bianca knows how to keep the ball rolling. Aside from returning to her job in Sports Management, Carla also does a number of public appearances from time to time.

    Winners of the 13th season, Josh and Elyse have been making big moves since walking away with over half a million dollars. Not only have they sold their Coburg home for $1.67 million just shortly after the show wrapped up, Josh and Elyse packed up their things and moved to Byron Bay. Earlier this year, the couple launched J&E Projects, a building and design company that works on both home and commercial spaces. On top of that, Elyse has been snagging brand deals left, right and centre! She’s currently ambassadors for brands like Myer, Vital, Land Rover Australia and so many more.

    The Block Glasshouse winners, Shannon and Simon, have moved on doing bigger and bolder things since the show wrapped up. In fact, Shannon has started his own company, Vos Creative, offering a variety of services namely interior design, construction and writing. On the other hand, Simon and his wife, Ashley, recently worked with realestate.com.au to flip a laundry room in a mid-century home into a studio apartment. With their experiences and insights on home renovations and improvements, it’s unsurprising that Shannon and Simon’s careers have taken off.

    With their passions in designing kitchens, The Block Glasshouse contestants, Chris and Jenna, started their own company to help others build the kitchen of their dreams. Not only have they worked in the kitchen industry for over a decade, they’ve also successfully flipped 4 of their own properties. It’s safe to say that they know what they’re doing. In addition, earlier this year, Chris and Jenna welcomed their second child and have been enjoying their time as a family.

    Power couple Kyal and Kara, have come a long way since competing on The Block in 2016. Aside from doing renovations after renovations, the couple recently moved into their stunning new home in Bateau Bay. Fun fact, the couple bought the home before kids were in the picture. Initially, they weren’t sure on the direction to take with their newly bought home, so they waited until their little ones came along. Two kids later, they had a clearer vision of how they wanted their dream home to look like and even called it Blue Lagoon Build. It’s safe to say that our jaws dropped when they revealed their gorgeous home on their Instagram!

    Bec and George Douros, have been living a busy life since bidding adieu to The Block 2013 and it looks like things will only get busier. Earlier this year, the couple announced on their Instagram that they’re expecting baby #3! Not only that, these former contestants have recently sold their home to move on to a bigger project. Bec and George have also just launched Nectaar, a studio specialising in interior design and home renovations. Their most recent project is George’s family home in Avondale Heights that took 10 months to complete!
