Waste Incineration and the Environment

Waste incineration is finding increasing favour as a waste disposal method. This study considers the place of incineration, reviewing the emissions and environmental impacts of incineration and other pollution control strategies, specifying research needed to the emissions of trace metals and organic micropollutants, and the methodologies for environmental impact assessment. A dispassionate view is presented of the various scientific and technical views involved.
