Dextrose Monohydrate is a form of single chain carbohydrate (simple sugar) made from corn starch and is easily soluble in water which is important for its palatability. Dextrose Monohydrate is commonly added to food to enhance sweetness, energy source and bulking agent. Dextrose Monohydrate can be either in liquid, tablet, or powder form. Dextrose Monohydrate is often used in foods (including sports drinks and energy gels) as the source of carbohydrate.

VPA's Dextrose Monohydrate is in powder form and made from corn. The product is made by hydrolysis. Hydrolysis uses water, enzymes and acids to break the starch into small pieces, which results in a white powder consisting of sugar molecules. Basically, it involves extracting and isolating the starch from the corn, rice or potatoes and creating a powder.

Directions:

• Add 1 level scoop to 250ml of water, low-fat milk or juice. Stir or shake for 20 seconds, or until dispersed.
