This picture book tells the story about a neurodivergent girl who tries very hard to fit into society and her peer groups. She struggles to find a place in this neurotypical world, but finally she rebels and creates her own rules. "The Girl Who Didn't Know How To Be" is an allegory of an autistic person, but at the same time perfectly portrays any neurodivergent person who feels different and struggles to fit in.
