Sketches of the Human Comedy

Over the past few years, Charles Bachman has created sketches on phones and his iPad that reflect his feelings at a particular moment. After collecting over 400 sketches, he decided to compile this book with 123 of the most "uniquely styled" pieces that reflect the wild and odd variety of human attitudes, moods, and idiosyncrasies (including the quirky). After all, they are all part of the human comedy.

Charles Bachman has published six books of poetry, and his articles have appeared in "Modern Drama" and "The German Quaterly." He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Indiana University, and is a Professor Emeritus of Buffalo State College, where he specialized in Native American/American Indian Literature. In 2010, he was given the Buffalo State President's Award for the Advancement of Equity and Campus Diversity.

For twenty-five years he had a second active career as an operatic baritone, singing twenty-six major roles as well as numerous concert and recital performances.

He is a three-year Army veteran, and enjoys climbing mountains in the Adirondacks with his wife, Nancy Townsend.
