The Cow Horn Okra has a distinct flavour that makes it perfect for pickling or gumbo! Although Cow Horn is best to harvest at 15cm, it can still be eaten tender, crunchy, and delicious up to 22cm long. This okra variety produces larger pods than most others, so make sure to harvest them while they're young and tender.

This heirloom okra dates back to the early 1900s. The twisted shape of this variety resembles the horns of a cow, giving it its name: Cow Horn. Did you know that gumbo and pickling are not the only uses for Okra? You can also use it as a curry, soup, and stew! The Cow Horn variety of Okra will start bearing flowers within 45 days, with the actual okra pods following soon after.
