Miquel Barcel

Miquel Barceló is one of the mostinteresting artists active today. For over 40 years, his poetics hasembodied different languages such as painting, sculpture, graphics andpublishing, in a great and very original artistic pathway.

TheInternational museum of Ceramics in Faenza (MIC) devoted an outstandingsolo exhibition to the Spanish artist. Curated by Irene Biolchini andCécile Pocheau Lesteven, it was the first anthological event devoted toBarceló's ceramic production, from his debut to the present day. Theevent included a special project created by the artist just for the MICFaenza in a dialogue with works in the collection, covering the historyof ceramics. This selection of key ceramic pieces from the MICcollection, dating back to 3000 BC, alongside the works of Barceló areall presented here through illustrations and accompanying text.
