Overview

The Lensbaby Soft Focus II optic is a versatile addition to the Optic Swap System, offering an improved version of the original Soft Focus optic. It features an aperture range from f/2.5 to f/22 and is compatible with both current and legacy Lensbaby lens bodies. What sets the Soft Focus II apart is its 12-blade manually adjustable internal aperture, enhancing its unique magnetic aperture system.

At its brightest apertures, this optic creates impressionistic images with subtle sharp details and a soft pastel color palette. It delivers a remarkably flat field of focus, enabling images that are distinct from those captured with other lenses. When stopped down to f/8 or smaller, the Soft Focus II produces detailed, traditionally sharp images with a large central area of focus and attractive out-of-focus edges, particularly on full-frame sensors and 35mm film cameras. The optical effect can be easily adjusted from impressionistic and glowy to contrasty and sharp using the internal 12-blade aperture control on the front of the optic.
