LEGO Technic Mobile Crane MK II 42009
**Build the ultimate lifting machine – the Mobile Crane MK II!**The 42009 LEGO® TECHNIC Mobile Crane MK II is the biggest and most complex Lego Technic model ever. This huge, complex, completely motorized, boom extended crane is lots of fun to build and play with and can even be remote-controlled. Lego Technic provides a challenge to experienced Lego builders who are capable of building advanced systems with real-life gearbox and steering functions.
The complexity of this extraordinary set, the breadth of functions, and the way in which it all fits together are truly exceptional - even by Lego standards. The attention to detail is amazing with doors that open, wing mirrors that move, and mini figures that fit into the seats which have been painstakingly designed and included.
The level of technical sophistication is remarkable with wheels that can be steered at different degrees to provide a tight turning circle and the exposed engine is a joy to observe. The brilliance and thoughtfulness with which this model has been designed to fit into one control unit are astonishing. With 2,606 pieces, this iconic set is an absolute joy to assemble and play with.
When the build has been completed you can maneuver this behemoth of a model with its 8-wheel steering system and rotate the awesome superstructure. The Lego Power Functions Motor is included that extends the outriggers, lowers the feet, and raises the arm up to 77cm and the working winch can lower the hook to lift a load.
This amazing two-in-one model includes 5 axles, 10 wheels, a V8 motor with movable pistons that features Lego Power functions such as:
- Rotating superstructure
- V8 motor with moving pistons
- Motor-powered raising and extending boom
- Motor-powered extending outriggers
- Retractable winch
- Extending crane arm
- Lowering feet
- 8-wheel drive
- 5 axles
- 10 wheels
- 88003 Lego Power Function L-Motor
- 88003 Lego Power Function Battery Box
The outriggers can be extended for increased stability and the arm can be extended up to 77cm (30 inches) into the air. The completed build with retracted arm and outriggers measures 20cm (8 inches) high, 58cm (23 inches) long, and 13cm (5 inches) wide. The container stacker with fully extended boom measures 51cm (20 inches) high, 48cm (19 inches) long and 18cm (7 inches) wide. The container truck measures 8cm (3 inches) high, 28cm (11 inches) long, and 8cm (3 inches) wide.
You can adjust the rear-view mirror, open the cab doors, steer the wheels, extend the outriggers, lower the feet, and the pistons in the engine actually move. There is even a differential on the driving wheel and the outriggers extend properly. You can drive it around manually while the motor extends and retracts the boom and moves the outriggers. It also extends the cable for lifting.
