Its ultra-fast f/1.4 maximum aperture not only creates smooth, natural background blur (bokeh), but also offers great low-light performance. Nikon's exclusive Silent Wave Motor (SWM) provides ultra-fast, ultra-quiet autofocus operation, and Super Integrated Coating (SIC) enhances light transmission for superior color.

FEATURES

With a maximum aperture of f/1.4 and Nikon's unique rounded 9-blade diaphragm, the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G renders a remarkably smooth, natural background blur (bokeh). This makes it an ideal lens for portraits-subjects can be isolated from their backgrounds for a dramatic composition.

The AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G offers a classic, "normal" (50mm) angle of view when used on an FX-format DSLR or 35mm film camera. When used on a DX-format camera, however, it becomes an ideal portrait lens, approximating the moderate telephoto perspective of a 75mm lens on an FX-format DSLR or 35mm film camera. Close focusing to 1.5 ft extends versatility.
